Dryden Goodwin: Drawn Together

Drawn Together is a Project by Artist and Professor of Fine Art, Dryden Goodwin, collaborating with UCL East Engagement. ‘Drawn Together’ connects researchers from UCL with people from east London whose working lives or personal experiences have a resonant connection with the particular field of research.

The drawings, documenting each encounter, are made by Dryden as the conversations develop. The celebration last month showcased the first five conversations captured through this project in the brand new Cinema at UCL East's One Pool Street building.

Conversations covered topics as diverse as migration and displacement, food and fermentation, the future of transport, and the intersections of citizen science, climate justice, and protest. It was amazing to see how these conversations came together and how quickly participants were able to find common ground, despite meeting each other for the first time. Some conversations lasted as long as 2 hours!

A huge thanks to Dryden Goodwin, UCL East, and the participants who helped make "Drawn Together" a reality: Michael Sulu and Kaajal Modi , Alex Rettie and Des BADU CIC, Isabel Bishop and Alice Gabb, Ben Campkin and Calu Lema, Humera Iqbal and Khaled @dostcentre.
